Construction and Transfer Program(Green Area Project)

ERCA implements the development of green areas with the aim of recreating cities that are well coordinated with nature, and of forming a recycling-based society that places a smaller environmental load on the environment.
This project accepts applications from local governments planning green areas as part of environmental conservation policies, designs and constructs the green areas on a made-to-order basis which satisfies divers needs, and assigns them to the applicants. The cost of construction of green areas is recouped from the applicants by means of long-term installments, excluding the amount of subsidy granted by the government.
The project was finished in March 2007 when the buffer green belts, green areas to counter air pollution, and green areas to counter global warming was completed.
>> Buffer Green Belts
This is a project to construct buffer zones that isolate factories and business areas from residential areas in order to aid development of industrial health and improvement of the living environment. The welfare facilities(parks, green areas, etc.)can be used in common by factory employees and community residents, and are assigned to local governments or enterprises.

>> Green Areas to Counter Air Pollution
This is a project to construct and assign green areas (city parks)that are useful for the purification of air by trees and for maintenance of the health of residents in urban areas where atmospheric pollution is intensive.

>> Green Areas to Counter Global Warming
This is a project to construct and assign green areas (city parks)at landfill sites and in areas of soil contamination where soil environment conservation is necessary to prevent leakage of toxic substances. It takes advantage of the function of green areas in the absorption of carbon dioxide and mitigation of heat island phenomenon from the viewpoint of controlling global warming.
