Q20: Will Grants be awarded to NGOs that have already begun projects?

A: The JFGE awards grants for global environmental conservation projects based on NGO plans on a yearly basis using the fiscal calendar of the government. Therefore, if an organization begins a project independently before the fiscal year in which the Grant will be awarded, and if the project meets the objectives of the JFGE, then the project may be eligible; however, only the activities undertaken during the fiscal year in question will be covered by the grant.

Furthermore, expenses necessary for the project that were incurred before the application for the Grant is approved may be calculated into eligible expenses if the expense is incurred during the fiscal year for that Grant.
