Research and Development Overview
In building a Circular economy system，in order to comply with the ELV (End of Life Vehicles) regulations，and to establish a recycling system capable of providing high-quality，stable supplies of recycled plastics for automotive applications with the aim of establishing a model (”X-to-Car”) that converts general consumer plastics (non-packaging plastics and rigid plastics) into recycled plastics for automotive applications，we will conduct formulation verification of high-quality recycled plastics suitable automobile applications.
Initiatives
We will verify compliance with ELV regulations in line with the target specifications for automotive interior and exterior parts disclosed by JAMA.
Using PCR (Post Consumer Recycled) materials obtained from raw material suppliers，we will evaluate material properties，lot-to-lot variability，and processability，and conduct studies to determine the optimal formulation for the ”X-to-CAR”concept. We will also perform quality analyses (physical properties, chemical substances，VOCs，etc.) and work on quality improvement.
While incorporating requirements from new Tier1 suppliers，we will further challenge formulation development for automotive components toward social implementation.
