Research on Structural and Physical Property Enhancement of Recycled Materials through Molding and Processing Technologies

Research and Development Overview
In this R&D program, we will systematically collect physical property data on recycled materials and investigate key indicators associated with thermal and oxidative degradation.
In parallel, we will collaborate with multiple industrial partners to enhance the quality of recycled materials and promote their practical application, with particular emphasis on the home appliance sector.
The research activities will be conducted in the following two primary project areas:
Project 1
Building on the outcomes of the previous fiscal year, we will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of degradation behaviors in both virgin and recycled materials using multiple advanced analytical techniques, including chemiluminescence analysis, fluorescence spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy, in addition to assessments from the standpoint of moldability. Furthermore, in order to elucidate the long-term durability of molded products, particular attention will be given to creep behavior, and the mechanical and physical properties of virgin and recycled materials will be systematically evaluated and compared.
Project 2
This project aims to improve the quality of recycled polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), and polystyrene (PS), with a targeted focus on applications in the home appliance and automotive industries. We will analyze degradation mechanisms in recycled materials, acquire detailed physical and structural property data, and optimize pelletizing and molding processes based on these findings. Through this approach, we seek to establish processing conditions that enable the production of high-quality recycled materials suitable for high-performance applications.
